Green and White plans 'BowTY' event

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Members of Slippery Rock University's Green and White Society are going all out to honor one of their former members by hosting the "J. Tyler Stufflebeam Pasta Dinner: A BowTY Event" fundraiser from 4-7 p.m., May 2, in the University Union.

Proceeds will benefit a memorial scholarship fund named in Stufflebeam's honor.

Stufflebeam, an ambassador and leader in the Green and White Society, was killed in a traffic accident.

Diners will be greeted and seated by society members who will also serve as the wait staff. Music by SRU students will be part of the event.

The dinner includes salad, pasta, choice of sauce, bread, dessert and beverage.

Cost is $6 in advance, $8 at the door.

The society has already raised $19,000 toward its $25,000 goal.
