GIRL SCOUT CHEMISTRY: More than 20 middle school Girl Scouts from western Pennsylvania joined in last Sunday's "Chemistry Makes the World a Better Place," a hands-on chemistry program sponsored by the SRU Chemistry Club. The Scouts learned about laboratory safety, the periodic table and Marie Curie, while completing several experiments presented by Chem Club members, under the guidance of Katherine Shaffer, SRU chemistry instructor and Girl Scout volunteer. The SRU Chemistry Club will host a similar program for fourth- and fifth-grade Girl Scouts in April.
