Accomplishments

Joseph Harry, associate professor of communication, was a discussant at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication session in Denver in August.

Amy Walters, assistant professor of communication, attended the Association of Pennsylvania State, College and University Faculty Legislative Assembly public relations meeting in Harrisburg in September. She also joined the APSCUF PSEA Conference on Labor and Higher Education in Harrisburg this month.

Valerie Swarts and Thomas Flynn, both professors of communication, served on two panels at the New York State Communication Association Conference in Ellenville, N.Y.

Mark Zeltner, associate professor of communication, will offer a presentation at Tuesday’s ACP/CMA Convention in Louisville, Ky.

Anna Lusher, associate professor in the School of Business, presented a paper at the Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Committee meeting at the American Accounting Associations’ Annual National Conference in San Francisco in July.

Frances Amatucci, associate professor in the School of Business, presented earlier this month on the topic of sustainable entrepreneurship at the Eastern SBI Annual Conference in Pittsburgh earlier this month.

Abbas Noorbakhsh, professor in the School of Business, and David Valentine, interim dean of the College of Business, Information and Social Sciences, represented SRU at Kangwon National University’s conference on “Globalization and New Business Environment in the Asian-Pacific Region” in South Korea earlier this month.

Richard Grimm, associate professor in the School of Business, participated in the "Creating Entrepreneurs: Re-Thinking What We Do" conference in Harrisburg this month.

Donald Mong, assistant professor in the School of Business, participated in the Northwest Pennsylvania Showcase for the Marcellus Shale Initiative in Titusville earlier this month. He also presented a paper in the conference's seminars program in State College, Pa.

Diane Galbraith, assistant professor in the School of Business, participated in the Pennsylvania Governor's Conference for Women in Pittsburgh earlier this month.

John Buttermore, assistant professor in the School of Business, presented a paper at the October NABET Annual Conference.

Renee Decker, government contract specialist in the Center for Economic and Community Development, co-hosted the 23rd Annual Procurement Opportunities Fair at California University of Pennsylvania.

Deb Cohen, professor of modern languages and cultures, delivered a paper on the newest generation of Costa Rican dramatists at the annual meeting of the Latin American Studies Association in Toronto, Canada.
