SRU hosts Heritage Festival

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University will host the Slippery Rock Heritage Association's annual Heritage Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 21.

"Heritage Memory," an historical display of photos, newspaper articles, letters and other items, will be located in the Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference Center. Other activities will be staged near Old Main.

Scheduled events include a car cruise and performances by the Crossroads Dance Academy and the Tamarack Lake Cloggers, a HulaHoop Contest and a limbo dance contest for children and a pet parade, sponsored by the Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital.

Cser will serve as disc jockey, and the Sanctuary Jazz Band from Ellwood City will perform. Seating is limited. Patrons are urged to bring lawn chairs.

Festival foods will be available along Main Street.
