SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University's Government Contracting Assistance Center will host a free "Understanding the COSTARS Program" seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 18 at the Veterans Medical Center in Butler.
COSTARS is a cooperative purchasing program managed by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services' Bureau of Procurement.
It allows local public procurement units and state affiliated entities to purchase products and services from businesses through a state contract established by DGS.
The seminar will teach participants the difference between statewide contracts and COSTARS contracts, the types of supplies purchased through COSTARS contracts and how to become a COSTARS supplier.
