SRU Mens Soccer Team

OFF TO VICTORY: The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team was sent off to victory and a spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship game earlier this week by fans gathered outside Morrow Field House. The team beat Mercyhurst in a penalty kick shootout to earn a spot in the championship game. The Rock will face Millersville University, the number one ranked Division II team nationally, at 6 p.m. Saturday in N. Kerr Thompson Stadium for the 2009 soccer title.

Rock soccer beats Mercyhurst;
hosts championship Saturday

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The 12th-ranked Slippery Rock University men's soccer team will host the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship game Saturday. The Rock earned a berth in the championship after winning a penalty kick shootout against Mercyhurst in the semi-finals that ended last Wednesday.

SRU tentatively schedules first
H1N1 vaccination clinic for students

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's Health Services has tentatively scheduled Nov. 19-20 for the first of a series of H1N1 (swine flu) clinics for SRU students.

"These are tentative dates because, although we have ordered a sufficient amount of vaccine, we are not sure how much of the vaccine we will receive, what type it will be or exactly when it will arrive," said Kris Chiprean, director of SRU's McLachlan Student Health Center. Read More

SRU's $26,195 SECA goal in sight; deadline extended to Monday

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's goal of $26,195 for the 2009 State Employee Combine Appeal is in sight, with contributions now totaling $20,084.

"We will continue to accept contributions through the end of the day Monday," said Mark O'Connor, classification and compensation manager in the Office of Human Resources. Read More
